Greetings

Welcome to the one and only Parasite Museum in Korea.
Korea in the past had serious hygiene issues in healthcare due to outdated medical care facilities and an unhygienic environment. Korea also had a bad reputation as the “Kingdom of Parasites” with the infection rate of intestinal parasites reaching 90–100%.
For the eradication of parasitic diseases, the Korea Association of Health Promotion (KAHP) tested 356,382,559 people in 1969 starting with students as well as local residents, workplaces, and the military, and 85,761,722 people were administered anthelmintic. This was a history of “eradicating parasites” which was unprecedented in the world.
Having participated in the history of “eradicating parasites,” we are now writing another page in the history of parasites in Korea by establishing the Parasite Museum.
We expect the opening of the one and only Parasite Museum in Korea will greatly contribute to disease prevention and health management by enabling systematic preservation and exhibition of parasites in Korea and overseas, re-examination of neglected parasites as well as easily informing the public about parasites.
We welcome your visit to the Parasite Museum and hope your time at the museum is valuable and meaningful.
